Respect For The Office?

by L. J. Martin

http://fromthepeapatch.com

Yeah, Ricky Martin is cute and a great singer, and now he’s thrilled, as another gay blade entertainer, to have been endorsed, in mass with the other gay blades, by the president of the U.S.A. I’m sure John Travolta will soon be invited to a white house supper, or maybe Ricky invited him to join himself and a few dozen intimate friends to sup with Obama, for a mere $35,000 a ticket. I wonder if the tip is included? I’ll bet the Secret Service has to station a man in the men’s restroom at all these gay bashes the president attends in order to move the boys along—these particular attendees have a tendency to dilly dally in the boys room—and make sure the president has an audience for his talk. Don’t ask me to define dilly dally as I prefer to leave it up to your imagination.

I don’t dislike people because of their sexual orientation, and have long thought that what they do in the privacy of their own home is their business, and have done lots of biz with gays. I respect their talent, but also inform them that if they put a hand on my thigh they’ll be visiting one of those very expensive Hollywood plastic surgeons and/or dentists, and, if on the thigh of one of my sons, when they were younger, the gay blades wouldn’t have to worry about being rebuilt as it would be an impossible job. I don’t flaunt my heterosexuality, other than constantly proclaiming how much I love and appreciate my beautiful wife, and don’t appreciate gays flaunting their orientation, nor do I expect them to receive special privilege because of their minority status. Is marriage “special privilege?” You bet it is, in my opinion. So, gay friends, get on with your life as a productive citizen and keep your quirks to yourself…and don’t ask me to be an usher in your wedding even though it’s now endorsed by Obama. And enjoy your fifteen minutes of fame in the glare of the president’s admiration.

Gay marriage may soon be elevated far above that of the rest of us as the most prominent and powerful black Congressman has proclaimed that Obama hasn’t gone far enough…now he should “enshrine” gay marriage. I don’t know what that means exactly, except I must presume it means the government should now pay for gay marriage, or at least the reception, as the government now pays for almost everything else. Or most—not all, but most—black Congressmen and women think it should.

Travolta couldn’t contain himself after obviously becoming sexually aroused by Obama’s endorsement of gay marriage and made a pass at a handsome black back-rubber at some hotel. “Rub my gluts, big boy, rub my gluts.” He’s now banned from the place. I’ve long heard the rumors about Travolta, even though he seems happily married with children, his rep in Hollywierd is as the queen of Hollywood and Vine…I mean a flat out skippy who makes no effort to hide the fact when on his home ground. I have lots of relatives and friends in, or who have been in, the biz in that town, and they talk—my son is still a member of a Hollywood biz union—so yes, it’s hearsay, but first hand hearsay from folks I trust.

There is no question in my mind that Obama is pandering to the gays. In fact he’s pandering to Hollywood and the gays so much I wonder when he has time to get anything else done…come to think of it, I hope he doesn’t have time to get anything else done if what he has done is any example of what he would do if he had more time. I have only one suggestion for him, Mr. President, wear a pink tie, in fact it looks good on you. But don’t get caught grabbing one of the gay blades by the thigh, or patting one on the gluts, even if the pat is a long basketball tradition.

Let’s try and keep some respect for the office of the presidency.

Tenure for teachers is among the worst of what we’ve begat from American unions:

From the book jacket of the new hardcover….

College tuition has risen four times faster than the rate of inflation in the past two decades. While faculties like to blame the rising costs on fancy athletic buildings and bloated administrations, professors are hardly getting the short end of the stick. Spending on instruction has increased 22 percent over the past decade at private research universities.

Parents and taxpayers shouldn’t get overheated about faculty salaries: tenure is where they should concentrate their anger. The jobs-for-life entitlement that comes with an ivory tower position is at the heart of so many problems with higher education today. Veteran journalist Naomi Schaefer Riley, an alumna of one of the country’s most expensive and best-endowed schools, explores how tenure has promoted a class system in higher education, leaving contingent faculty who are barely making minimum wage and have no time for students to teach large swaths of the undergraduate population. She shows how the institution of tenure forces junior professors to keep their mouths shut for a decade or more if they disagree with senior faculty about anything from politics to research methods. And she examines how the institution of tenure—with the job security, mediocre salaries and low levels of accountability it entails—may be attracting the least innovative and interesting members of our society into teaching.

Came to me on the web, but I totally agree:

Wal-Mart vs. The Morons

1. Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart Every hour of every day.

2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!

3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th) than Target sells all year.

4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target +Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined.

5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people, is the world’s largest private employer, and most speak English.

6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the world.

7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger and Safeway combined, and keep in mind they did this in only fifteen years.

8. During this same period, 31 big supermarket chains sought bankruptcy.

9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.

10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had five years ago.

11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur at Wal-Mart stores. (Earth’s population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)

12. 90% of all Americans live within fifteen miles of a Wal-Mart.

You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the ground work for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to fix the economy.

This should be read and understood by all Americans… Democrats, Republicans, EVERYONE!!

To President Obama and all 535 voting members of the Legislature

It is now official that the majority of you are corrupt morons:

a.. The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right and it is broke.

b.. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right and it is broke.

c.. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right and it is broke.

d.. War on Poverty started in 1964.  You have had 45 years to get it right;
$1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to “the poor” and they only want more.

e.. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right and they are broke.

f.. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right and it is broke.

g.. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.

You have FAILED in every “government service” you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars.

AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM??

Folks, keep this circulating. It is very well stated. Maybe it will end up in the e-mails of some of our “duly elected’ (they never read anything) and their staff will clue them in on how Americans feel.

AND

I know what’s wrong. We have lost our minds to “Political Correctness” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone please tell me what the HELL’s wrong with all the people that run this country!!!!!!
We’re “broke” & can’t help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc.,???????????
In the last months we have provided aid to Haiti , Chile , and Turkey..And now Pakistan ……..previous home of bin Laden. Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!

Our retired seniors living on a ‘fixed income’ receive no aid nor do they get any breaks…

AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without ‘needed’ meds, and mentally ill without treatment -etc,etc.

Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave ‘US’ the same support they give to other countries. Sad isn’t it?

99% of people won’t have the guts to forward this.

I’m one of the 1% — I Just Did

There is a time for all things and all things in their time. The time to reduce the cost of the post office is now. With email, FedEx, UPS, etc., it’s an antique and only held together by ass-kissing politicians and greedy unions. The postmaster has begged congress to let him cut many thousands of jobs and stop Saturday delivery, but like all things fiscal, Congress seems to think they can continue to cut the throat of the taxpayer rather than the budget…after all, the folks out here in the pea patch may not vote for them if they don’t get a handful of useless flyers every Saturday. Come on, Congress, get an ounce of chicken guts and do what’s right for a change. Or maybe you’d like to go back into the buggy whip biz?

Came to me on the web, but I totally agree. Ladies, remember it’s a generic “he” as ladies are a big part of our fighting force….

1/2 boy 1/2 man

The average age of the military man is 19 years. He is a short haired, tight-muscled kid who, under normal circumstances is considered by society as half man, half boy. Not yet dry behind the ears, not old enough to buy a beer, but old enough to die for his country. He never really cared much for work and he would rather wax his own car than wash his father’s, but he has never collected unemployment either.

He’s a recent High School graduate; he was probably an average student, pursued some form of sport activities, drives a ten year old jalopy, and has a steady girlfriend that either broke up with him when he left, or swears to be waiting when he returns from half a world away. He listens to rock and roll or hip-hop or rap or jazz or swing and a 155mm howitzer.

He is 10 or 15 pounds lighter now than when he was at home because he is working or fighting from before dawn to well after dusk. He has trouble spelling, thus letter writing is a pain for him, but he can field strip a rifle in 30 seconds and reassemble it in less time in the dark. He can recite to you the nomenclature of a machine gun or grenade launcher and use either one effectively if he must.

He digs foxholes and latrines and can apply first aid like a professional.

He can march until he is told to stop, or stop until he is told to march.

He obeys orders instantly and without hesitation, but he is not without spirit or individual dignity. He is self-sufficient.

He has two sets of fatigues: he washes one and wears the other. He keeps his canteens full and his feet dry.

He sometimes forgets to brush his teeth, but never to clean his rifle. He can cook his own meals, mend his own clothes, and fix his own hurts.

If you’re thirsty, he’ll share his water with you; if you are hungry, his food. He’ll even split his ammunition with you in the midst of battle when you run low.

He has learned to use his hands like weapons and weapons like they were his hands.

He can save your life – or take it, because that is his job.

He will often do twice the work of a civilian, draw half the pay, and still find ironic humor in it all.

He has seen more suffering and death than he should have in his short lifetime.

He has wept in public and in private, for friends who have fallen in combat and is unashamed.

He feels every note of the National Anthem vibrate through his body while at rigid attention, while tempering the burning desire to ‘square-away ‘ those around him who haven’t bothered to stand, remove their hat, or even stop talking. In an odd twist, day in and day out, far from home, he defends their right to be disrespectful.

Just as did his Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather, he is paying the price for our freedom. Beardless or not, he is not a boy. He is the American Fighting Man that has kept this country free for over 200 years.

He has asked nothing in return, except our friendship and understanding.

Remember him, always, for he has earned our respect and admiration with his blood.

And now we even have women over there in danger, doing their part in this tradition of going to War when our nation calls us to do so.

Prayer wheel for our military…. Please don’t break it Please send this on after a short prayer.

Prayer Wheel

‘Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us.

Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen.’

When you receive this, please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our ground troops in Afghanistan, sailors on ships, and airmen in the air, and for those in Iraq, Afghanistan and all foreign countries.

Of all the gifts you could give a US Soldier, Sailor, Coastguardsman, Marine, or Airman, prayer is the very best one.

This came to me on the net. I personally don’t agree that this is a Democrat/Republican issue, it’s a fiscal responsibility issue…it just happens that so many Democratic mayors lack that quality.

10 Poorest Cities in America

10 Poorest Cities in America:

% of People Below the Poverty Level

1. Detroit , MI 32.5%

2. Buffalo , NY 29.9%

3. Cincinnati , OH 27.8%

4. Cleveland , OH 27.0%

5. Miami , FL 26.9%

6. St. Louis , MO 26.8%

7. El Paso , TX 26.4%

8. Milwaukee , WI 26.2%

9. Philadelphia , PA 25.1%

10. Newark , NJ 24.2%

What do the top ten cities (over 250,000) with the highest poverty rate all have in common?

Detroit, MI (1st on the poverty rate list) hasn’t elected a Republican mayor since 1961

Buffalo, NY (2nd) hasn’t elected one since 1954

Cincinnati, OH -(3rd) since 1984

Cleveland, OH -(4th) since 1989

Miami, FL – (5th) has never had a Republican mayor

St. Louis, MO – (6th) no Republican mayor since 1949

El Paso, TX – (7th) has never had a Republican mayor

Milwaukee , WI -(8th) not since 1908

Philadelphia, PA -(9th) not since 1952

Newark, NJ -(10th) not since 1907

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

It is the poor who habitually elect Democrats…yet they are still POOR.

“You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.

You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.

You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.

You cannot build character and courage by taking away people’s initiative and independence.

You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.” Abraham Lincoln

Powered by iSpeech.org" height="18" width="77" style="cursor:pointer" onclick="showPlayer(23,'http://fromthepeapatch.com/is-islam-a-religion-or-a-way-of-life/a-germans-view-of-islam/')" />

Are We The Silent Majority?

This came to me on the web:

A German’s View on Islam

A man, whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II, owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism. ‘Very few people were true Nazis,’ he said, ‘but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.’

We are told again and again by ‘experts’ and ‘talking heads’ that Islam is the religion of peace and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the spectra of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam.

The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the fanatics who march.. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honor-kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to become suicide bombers.

The hard, quantifiable fact is that the peaceful majority, the ‘silent majority,’ is cowed and extraneous.

Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant. China’s huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.

The average Japanese individual prior to World War II was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet.

And who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were ‘peace loving’?

History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason, we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points: Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence. Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don’t speak up, because like my friend from Germany, they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun.

Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late. As for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts–the fanatics who threaten our way of life.

Lastly, anyone who doubts that the issue is serious and just deletes this email without sending it on, is contributing to the passiveness that allows the problems to expand. So, extend yourself a bit and send this on and on and on! Let us hope that thousands, world-wide, read this and think about it, and send it on – before it’s too late.

Presidential Pandering

Somehow the image of the president kneeling by the front door of a supermarket with a tin cup and sign does not set well with me. Fund raising by all politicians is way out of hand, and of course left up to them to correct it’s obvious it’s beyond their abilities.

On the same day I read that Gov. Scott Walker beat the hell out of the unions in the recall election and that Obama endorses gay marriage and a liberal federal judge, Urbanski, suggests that Christians remove four of the ten commandments, those four relating to God, I really begin to wonder about the juxtaposition of citizens of the good old U.S.A.

Clearly the most important of those issues was Walker winning against the state-tit sucking unions who spent an estimated 100 million dollars to recall him, as Urbanski is so far out of reality that he doesn’t count. Now Walker’ll run against the same character he beat and beat badly to become governor. I guess the attempted recall of this governor who did so much to sober up the citizens of his state with good old fiscal responsibility hit the hot button of a lot of us, we silent majority (I pray) out here in the Pea Patch, as even I sent $25.00 across three states to help save his job. And I guess those $25.00 contributions must have added up, as he WON.

Obama, who sees himself as super cool and now part of the Hollywood establishment may have tripped over his own ding dong with this one. He supports gay marriage and suddenly the New York Times comes up with a story that high schooler Mitt Romney lead a “gang” who held down a gay student and gave him an unwanted hair cut. I’m sure the kid had hair down to his shoulders which was way out of the norm in conservative Utah, but of course in today’s screwed up state of political correctness that would be a hate crime because many years later the student came out of the closet. So Obama, rather than accuse Romney of homophobia jumps on the bandwagon and supports gay marriage. I personally think Obama’s affinity with Hollywood stems from the fact that both he and actors read their lines rather than originate their own thoughts. Obama/So-Called-Hollywood-Stars…fellow travelers down the road to socialism.

But the president apparently pandered lots of dough from the dummies in Hollywierd, who almost floated out of their loafers to offer up alms…so whom will he pander to next? Anyone with some green, it appears. Even though Romney was not my candidate to begin with, I sincerely hope he beats the hell out of Obama just like Walker beat the hell out of the tit-sucking unions.

A speech every high school principal should deliver.

This is attributed to Southern California Radio host Dennis Prager.

A Speech Every American High School Principal Should Give.

By Dennis Prager.

To the students and faculty of our high school:

I am your new principal, and honored to be so. There is no greater calling than to teach young people.

I would like to apprise you of some important changes coming to our school. I am making these changes because I am convinced that most of the ideas that have dominated public education in America have worked against you, against your teachers and against our country.

First, this school will no longer honor race or ethnicity. I could not care less if your racial makeup is black, brown, red, yellow or white. I could not care less if your origins are African, Latin American, Asian or European, or if your ancestors arrived here on the Mayflower or on slave ships. The only identity I care about, the only one this school will recognize, is your individual identity — your character, your scholarship, your humanity. And the only national identity this school will care about is American.

This is an American public school, and American public schools were created to make better Americans. If you wish to affirm an ethnic, racial or religious identity through school, you will have to go elsewhere. We will end all ethnicity, race and non-American nationality-based celebrations. They undermine the motto of America, one of its three central values — e pluribus Unum, “from many, one.” And this school will be guided by America’s values. This includes all after-school clubs. I will not authorize clubs that divide students based on any identities. This includes race, language, religion, sexual orientation or whatever else may become in vogue in a society divided by political correctness.

Your clubs will be based on interests and passions, not blood, ethnic, racial or other physically defined ties. Those clubs just cultivate narcissism — an unhealthy preoccupation with the self – while the purpose of education is to get you to think beyond yourself. So we will have clubs that transport you to the wonders and glories of art, music, astronomy, languages you do not already speak, carpentry and more. If the only extracurricular activities you can imagine being interested in are those based on ethnic, racial or sexual identity, that means that little outside of yourself really interests you.

Second, I am uninterested in whether English is your native language. My only interest in terms of language is that you leave this school speaking and writing English as fluently as possible. The English language has united America’s citizens for over 200 years, and it will unite us at this school. It is one of the indispensable reasons this country of immigrants has always come to be one country. And if you leave this school without excellent English language skills, I would be remiss in my duty to ensure that you will be prepared to successfully compete in the American job market. We will learn other languages here — it is deplorable that most Americans only speak English –but if you want classes taught in your native language rather than in English, this is not your school.

Third, because I regard learning as a sacred endeavor, everything in this school will reflect learning’s elevated status. This means, among other things, that you and your teachers will dress accordingly. Many people in our society dress more formally for Hollywood events than for church or school. These people have their priorities backward. Therefore, there will be a formal dress code at this school.

Fourth, no obscene language will be tolerated anywhere on this school’s property — whether in class, in the hallways or at athletic events. If you can’t speak without using the f-word, you can’t speak. By obscene language I mean the words banned by the Federal Communications Commission, plus epithets such as “Nigger,” even when used by one black student to address another black, or “bitch,” even when addressed by a girl to a girlfriend. It is my intent that by the time you leave this school, you will be among the few your age to instinctively distinguish between the elevated and the degraded, the holy and the obscene.

Fifth, we will end all self-esteem programs. In this school, self-esteem will be attained in only one way — the way people attained it until decided otherwise a generation ago — by earning it. One immediate consequence is that there will be one valedictorian, not eight.

Sixth, and last, I am reorienting the school toward academics and away from politics and propaganda. No more time will be devoted to scaring you about smoking and caffeine, or terrifying you about sexual harassment or global warming. No more semesters will be devoted to condom wearing and teaching you to regard sexual relations as only or primarily a health issue… There will be no more attempts to convince you that you are a victim because you are not white, or not male, or not heterosexual or not Christian. We will have failed if any one of you graduates this school and does not consider him or herself inordinately fortunate — to be alive and to be an American.

Now, please stand and join me in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of our country. As many of you do not know the words, your teachers will hand them out to you.
