Jill Q. Vecchio, M.D.
Dr. Vecchio grew up in the Midwest and graduated with Honors from Iowa State University in 1981. She then moved to beautiful Colorado where she worked in business for a few years before applying to medical school. She matriculated to University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1985 and graduated with Honors in 1989. After 2 1/2 years of Ob/Gyn residency at Rush-Pres.-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, she returned to University of Colorado to Radiology residency, where she served as Chief Resident. A fellowship in Women’s Imaging at Univ. of Colorado followed, and in 1997 she accepted a position as Director of Women’s and Body Imaging with Sherman Radiology in Colorado Springs. She then started her own radiology group, Imaging Specialists, also in Colorado Springs. In 1998 she was named Radiologist of the Year by HealthSouth for “Contributions to Medical Practice”. After 4 years, she accepted a position with Radiology Imaging Associates back in Denver and worked with the Sally Jobe Breast Network and the Women’s Pavillion at Medical Center of Aurora, where she became the Medical Director and was named among their “Physicians Making a Difference”. In 2008 she joined Rocky Mountain Radiologists and now serves as Director of the Exempla Lutheran Breast Care Center.
