Another astute observation from the Kitchen…Neil Kitchen

From streets half a world away

Wings of freedom spread before our eyes

Proudly rising toward the light of day

The free world cheers hooray

Extolling liberty without compromise.

Protestors bravely face both tank and gun

They stare death in the eye

For an ideal that was begun

From a vision of a better future for their young

For which young and old are prepared to die.

On our shores we bask in liberty

A legacy with which some appear disenchanted

They paid no treasure for its delivery

They shed no blood for its autonomy

It’s just another gift they casually,

albeit shamefully, take for granted.
