The American have repeatedly people told Barack Obama “no amnesty for illegal aliens,” but apparently, the word “no”makes Barack Obama very angry. Like a spoiled child, he’s drawn a line in the sand: Congress doesn’t tell him what to do and the American people most certainly don’t tell him what to do.

As you already know, the Obama Administration just proclaimed that it will NOT enforce our nation’s immigration laws. A proclamation that Brewer calls a “backdoor amnesty for hundreds of thousands — if not millions — of illegal aliens.”

But there’s nothing “backdoor” about Obama’s dictatorial refusal to enforce our nation’s laws. His latest action is a flagrant and overt usurpation of authority and power. The Constitution is very clear. Congress (the legislative branch) MAKES the laws. The executive branch ENFORCES the laws. Presidents do not effectively make laws by executive fiat simply by cherry-picking which laws shall be enforced and which laws shall not.

Brewer is right. It’s time to send Barack Obama a not-so-subtle message. He is not a king… Obama is not a dictator. And Congressman Lamar Smith has already stepped forward to help patriotic Americans do just that.

Smith has introduced the HALT Act (H.R.2497), responsible legislation that will stop Barack Obama’s amnesty power grab dead in its tracks and our elected officials in Congress need to hear from you right now. Passing Smith’s HALT Act must be priority number one. And with your help, we’re going to make that happen, right here and right now.
