As If They Didn’t Have Other Things To Do….

I’m so sick of congress and our courts wasting time and our money investigating and investigating and investigating….  Why don’t they turn their time and attention to the nation’s work, and not to trying to tear each other down.  This Blackwater thing has been run into the ground for years now.  Yeah, in the midst of the most dangerous place on earth, some guys made a mistake and some possibly innocent and some innocent folks got caught in the crossfire.  I’d like to put these lawyers and judges under the same stress and see how quickly they’d pull the trigger.  But no, from the safety of some bar near the courthouse they plot and plan against a bunch of guys who were merely trying to do their job.  GET A LIFE, and try and do something productive…like trying to get a trillion or so of our dollars back from Iraq.  How about following Trump’s suggestion, and do what I’ve said for years, take a little payback from those fat oilfields.  Like all that we’ve invested plus interest.

This from The Daily Beast:

An appeals court has revived the prosecution of four Blackwater guards accused of killing 14 Iraqis in a Baghdad street more than three years ago. The three-judge panel ruled unanimously that a federal judge misinterpreted the law when he dismissed all charges against the guards in 2009. The four guards were accused of opening fire in a crowded square while escorting diplomats away from a nearby bombing site. When the shooting ended, 14 Iraqis were killed and 20 wounded. The shooting badly strained relations between the U.S. and Iraq, and tarnished the reputation of Blackwater to the point that the mercenary-contracting company renamed itself Xe Services. It’s not clear what effect the ruling will have on the case: Though the court ruled that U.S. District Judge Ricardo Urbina “made a number of systemic errors based on an erroneous legal analysis” when he dismissed the charges, it also sent the case back to that same judge for reconsideration.
