From The Kitchen….Neil Kitchen. Seeds Of Democracy

Whether longstanding or newborn

It often lacks efficiency

It is a doctrine that invites reform

When government fails to conform

With its tenants of fairness and liberty.

Upon careful reflection

It is clear to me

Democracy does not begin with an election

But rather from one patriot’s rejection

Of his government’s tyranny.

From the ashes of autocratic repression

From years of their leaders’ treachery

Brave citizens display their patriotic passion

By filling the streets in bold fashion

With a single voice that beckons liberty.
